N-Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) is a tertiary amine substance. The molecular formula is CH3N(CH2CH2OH)2, the molecular weight is 119.16, the specific gravity is 1.0418, and the boiling point 247°C, viscosity at 12°C is 101cP, freezing point -48°C, completely soluble in water.
This production process adopts the most advanced pipeline reaction, that is, ethylene oxide and pure monomethylamine are reacted in a tubular reactor under a pressure of 2.5MPa, and MDEA is obtained through distillation and rectification, with a purity of 97%. above.
This process has the following significant advantages:
1. Good security. Pipeline reaction can avoid the occurrence of detonation caused by local overheating, and it is a safe process route for ethylene oxide.
2. Good quality and few by-products. Controlling the ratio of cycloethylamine/methylamine can prevent the generation of high boiling substances. The product has a good color and is almost colorless. It has been proved by industrialization that the color of the product is far better than that of the tank reactor.
3. The energy consumption is extremely low. Anhydrous monomethylamine can be used in the tubular reaction, and 40% aqueous methylamine solution is used in the kettle-type process. The latter consumes a lot of energy for distilling water, and the water content of the product is relatively high.
4. High output. Continuous reaction process, easy to start and stop, adjustable output per hour.
This process has been tested on an industrial scale of 600 tons/year, and it has fully reached the international standard. Research and development personnel have successfully developed a domestic 10,000-ton-level ethanolamine production process, and reached the national level, and accumulated rich experience, providing a strong guarantee for the production process of MDEA.
