New organobismuth compounds and structural analysis

Bismuth and its compounds have the characteristics of relatively low cost, low toxicity and low radioactivity, and have been used in fields such as medicine, catalysis, cosmetics and electronic technology. In the past 10 years, according to the research status of organobismuth chemistry, this review is mainly from the following four aspects:

  Organic bismuth, organic bismuth compound

1. Synthetic route and structural characteristics of new organobismuth compounds;

2. Organic Bismuth compounds are used as reagents for cross-linking coupling, oxidation, arylation and other reactions;

3. As catalysts;

4. As biomedicines for ulcers, tumors and radiotherapy wait.

Bismuth compounds have green and safe properties such as low cost, easy handling, low toxicity and low radioactivity. In the past 10 years, both the synthesis of new organobismuth compounds and the application research of organobismuth compounds in organic synthesis, catalysis, and biomedicine have been in a stage of rapid development. Domestic scholar Professor Zhong Guoqing published a review article on Bi(Ⅲ) complexes in “Progress in Chemistry” in 2006, which mainly summarized the synthesis and structure of trivalent bismuth ion complexes.

So far, there is no review article detailing the applied research on organobismuth compounds in the past 10 years. Judging from the depth and breadth of research, Japanese scholars’ research work in organic bismuth chemistry is at the forefront of the world and has replaced the previous leading position of European countries. However, there are only a few domestic scholars engaged in research on organic bismuth chemistry.

The following editor will analyze the structure of the new organic bismuth compound and its synthesis: The main synthesis methods of organic bismuth compounds are: organic metal route, alkali metal bismuth salt route, electrochemical arylation, reaction between organic halide and bismuth metal, disproportionation reaction, Oxidative addition routes, displacement reactions, ligand complexation, etc.
